Principle of Operation

The electrodialysis membrane stack is assembled by repeatedly alternating the main components of spacers, ion exchange membranes, electrodes, and clamping devices. The core component is the Ion exchange membrane, which is selectively permeable to ions of different charges.

The cation membrane only allows cations to pass through and blocks anions; the anion membrane only allows anions to pass through and blocks cations. Under the influence of an external direct current (DC) electric field, ions in the water migrate directionally.

Classification

ccording to customer requirements, site conditions, and project needs, customized designs can be made for assembly methods, equipment forms, clamping methods, etc. 

We currently offer various types of Electrodialysis stacks, including screw-locking designs and hydraulic types.

The screw-locking design is suitable for small to medium-scale pilot applications with a smaller membrane area, while the hydraulic type is suitable for medium to large-scale applications with a larger membrane area and more compact space.

The quantity of membrane cell can be customized according to customer requirements.

Applications

• It can be used for zero liquid discharge treatment of wastewater in various fields such as chemical industry, paper-making, dyeing and printing, coal chemical industry, smelting, and waste management.

• It can be used for desalination, separation, and purification in the production processes of food, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals.

• It can be used for the electrolytic preparation of organic target products with special requirements.

• It can be used for the concentration, purification, and recovery of waste acids and alkalis.
